bee brand cards with a white border???

A place where beginners can participate, ask questions, and post their views. However, beginners typically ask a lot of questions about sources, tricks, books, and so on. In fact, all magicians are interested (or should be) in the provenance of tricks, ideas, and related matters. This department will service these needs.

Hard to say...
I have a very old Invisible Deck made from white bordered Bees so at one time they did make them and someone took the time to gaff 'em up.

Did they have 2 ovals on the back with bees in them (sort of like regular casino Bees)? If they did they are called Bee Stingers. I have been trying to find some for a long time. I understand that USPC only sells them to casinos.

I ordered some decks. Who knows....with the very popular World Poker Tournament going on, a tie-in might be made with a gambling routine.

You can get a glimpse of the "Stingers" here.

I belive these are the same cards sold in the Sam's Club as a pack of two decks with an instructional booklet of rules and WPT hype; I'm not sure of the cost but I believe it was under $8

I'd like to hear more about these black backed Bee decks. I've been looking for a black deck for years. I want to use it in conjunction with Racherbaumer's Technicolor Oil and Water.

If you like the Racherbaumer routine, I strongly urge you to check out Regals technicolor take on that plot also. While Jon's is excellent, I find Regals more direct (three phases and out). It's in his now out of print book Star Quality and also on one of his recent dvd's. Couldn't tell you which dvd as I learned it from the book.

Chris,

Is 'Perfectly Oiled' the David Regal technicolor Oil and Water routine that you mentioned?

Hi - I looked up the Oil & Water routine. It's from Volume Two of my current DVD set. If you are interested I can sell you one for $25, shipping included in US. Paypal me using the email davidregal@earthlink.net.

This offer, for any volume in the series (4 volumes), goes out to anyone.

Here's a list of the contents of Volume Two:

POWER

Isolated Force (from Close-Up & Personal) - A unique and convincing force of a card in which the back of the card is never seen.

Half & Half (from Star Quality) - a card changes color in an atypical fashion.

Perfectly Oiled (from Star Quality)- A very clear Oil & Water effect that builds to a no-moves climax.

Face It, You've Changed (from Constant Fooling) - A spectator selects a card, examines it and signs it. Its back changes color . . . in spite of the fact that the magician never touches the card.

An Incredible Journey (from Star Quality) - A signed card invisibly travels into a card box that has been placed inside the magician's jacket pocket.

Not Quite Dead / Haunted Pack (unpublished) - A demonstration of supernatural forces that uses a classic method in a novel way.

A Magic Lesson (from Constant Fooling) - A tongue-in-cheek explanation of Card to Pocket leads to an inexplicable magical climax involving a spectator's signature.

Holding On (from Star Quality & Constant Fooling) - A playing card is signed. The magician stands and reaches under the table with an empty hand. When he presses on the deck, the selection passes through the table.

Prophecy Pack (dealer item, details of construction explained) - This is the incredible hands-off prediction effect Regal used to fool all and sundry when he moved to the West Coast.

Penny for Your Thoughts (from Close-Up & Personal) - A glass of pennies is examined-the dates are different. The spectator selects a penny while the performer's back is turned, yet the performer tells him the date.

Fill in the Blank Transpo (from Constant Fooling) - One of Regal's current signature pieces-a clear and spotlessly clean transposition of two playing cards.

had in Richmond,Virginia was the cards Tabman

a Poker book for $8.00 and change. They are all

packaged together and I could not see them but

There are two different types of "World Poker Tour" cards. The decks packaged with the book and sold at Sams for $8 or $9 have a full-back logo of the WPT. Elsmagic carries those, and also carries red and blue Bee backed decks with a smaller WPT logo. Both types are white-bordered. I have both and they have that solid Bee feel.

Don't know if this has been previously posted, so just in case here's the latest on the white-bordered Bee World Poker Tour playing cards. I bought a pack of red and blue at Walgreen's last week for $2.99 each. They are white-bordered Bee's with the World Poker Tour logo on them similar to casino cards. Also, the red is a bit darker than the regular Bee stock and the blue is a totally different blue than the normal Bee blue. It is actually very attractive and a little brighter and warmer than the standard Bee. They handle perfectly and faro nicely.

If anyone could let me know of some other outlet(Either UK based or online) for the Bees that Ray just described I'd be very grateful.

Thanks in advance . . .(hopin')

Kardwell.com
has them here: World Poker Tour Diamond Back Playing Cards

And many more, of course. Kardwell ships internationally, no problem.

I keep meaning to order a quarter-gross of Tally-Hos from them, but I've still got a dozen unopened packs of Bikes I haven't got to yet.

I've tried a pack of WPT Diamond Backs and they're nice. Of course, the design makes it harder to deal seconds than with Bees, and the design is not one-way.

You'd think the World Poker Tour people were trying to discourage cheating, or something.

Thanks for that James.
I can get standard Bees (genuine!) here in Mainland China for around $3 US.
I have yet to come across 'real' Bikes here yet, though the fakes can be got at around $5 US.

Once again, thanks for the link. I'm on it now.

Best wishes . .
