FS: Chip Stacks from 50 year old clay chips.
I'm trying to spin as much magic as I can right now so yesterday and today I made up 16 sets of these. They are available in red and/or green. As I make these different items I am offering them to the Genii Forum first before adding them to the stock pile I am making for the IBM/SAM Convention next summer. Help an old man get to camp!!! :)
The chips are some unmarked 11 oz. professional grade clay checks from a stash of chips from the 50s. I bought them in Reno years ago when I was there with Kozak and Amaz. J. The gent from whom I purchased these is long gone sadly. He was a great source for chips, layouts, casino cloth and other gambling related items in those days. He will be missed.
The set comes with a bonded stack of four with a cavity machined into the bonded chips that will hold a small die (two dice included) plus four loose matching chips. These chip stacks are machined on a metal lathe after bonding, not just drilled out on a drill press and glued together. On examination, you can really tell the difference. The high tech bonding process should never come apart but if it does I will make it right as I absolutely guarantee all the magic I make.
The set also includes (but not pictured) a high quality black drawstring bag to hold the set (I'll try to gte a pic of the bag up later if I can).
The price for the set is $55 and comes with a nice routine using a rolled up banknote. The price for a set of each is $95 (one red and one green set). The prices include shipping to the USA.
Thanks very much,

Email me if you'd like to get one of these sets. There are eight of each color available then never any more of these old plain clay checks.

Sorry for the delay on getting this picture up in response to the emails about the chips with the bag. We had a big storm last night and it slowed me down some. Here's the pic:
Thanks again,

love those tiny cute dice too.
I think I've had enough. I'm going to have to get a set of these chip sets.

There is a routine using some chips and a rolled up note in the June 1962 issue of The Gen (volume 18 number 2) on page 37 written by Lewis Ganson. It's the Vernon on Ramsay routine and even has some nice photographs.Originally posted by -=tabman:

Thanks Johnathan. Anybody got a copy of The Gen dated above they are willing to part with??? I credit The Art of Close-up Magic, Lewis Ganson and John Ramsay in my instruction sheet that I supply with the chip stacks I make. I wrote them up about 15 years ago when I first started spinning the chips.
Pete, all is well here storm wize. Thanks for caring.
Frank, if anybody knows dice its you!!! Thanks.

Thanks Andrew Pinard, who has obtained the material from The GEN.
I'm not sure if the silk handkerchief was part of the routine in The Art of Close-up Magic. I'll have to run through the routine and see what I think.
