Roy's Walking !

Postby CraigMitchell » February 11th, 2004, 8:14 am

From the LVRJ ...

Siegfried and Roy's inner circle is abuzz with some heartening news: Roy Horn took two steps on his own over the weekend.

Siegfried & Roy's manager, Bernie Yuman, without going into specifics, on Tuesday confirmed that Horn is "making huge strides" in rehabilitating his left side since the Oct. 3 white tiger attack at The Mirage.

In addition, I heard today (passed on from Irene Larsen) that Roy's speech is improving.

I hope that people close to S&R will continue to keep us updated. It's great to hear some good news about Roy's recovery, but it sure sounds like it will be a long road for him. :(

I've a question. Is the major problem Roy is having due to the physical damage caused by the tiger doing what ever it was doing or by the stroke? I realize the stroke was caused by the bite but strokes can often change in severity rather quickly or not at all.

Steve:

A number of reports suggested that a stroke preceded the bite.

Either way, nearly all accounts (many of which seem to be conjecture) point to the damage being from the strokes.

Okay. Thank you. I've seen amazing recoveries from strokes (some don't, but it's hope).

This week's National Enquirer has it(front page) that Siegfried is the one walking... walking out on Roy!

What? I just went online and no mention at all in the current issue.

Can you give some details?

This is what I found online. Is there more to the story?
Siegfried Fischbacher walked out on Roy Horn, fleeing to Cuba after he cracked under the strain of caring for his paralyzed partner.
The walkout came just as Roy was beginning to remember some of the events surrounding his October 3 onstage mauling and its aftermath -- including actions by manager Bernie Yuman that have made the ailing illusionist furious.

I would hazard a guess that there are fairly few people who would know for certain. I can also tell you, from personal experience, that sometimes people who love someone very much and see the strain that dealing with a stressful situation is causing, will sometimes tell that person "Go! I'm under good medical care. Just go and leave me some space, and take care of yourself so you don't get sick."

Who knows which it is...

Siegfried is standing VERY tall through this situation.
The rude insinuations above are NOT true.

My reaction to seeing the newsstand issue of the Enquirer was to laugh out loud. I guess you all missed the previous cover that said something to the effect of, "Roy says Let Me Die!".

It saddens me that this forum would lend any credence to anything that the Enquirer or any other trash rag would have to say. Sadder yet that S&R are front cover material for them. Times must be slow for gossip rags. :whack:

The publisher of the Enquirer admitted on tv a few years back (20/20 or somesuch) that they make stories and headlines up. Pure and simple make them up. :whack:

The bigger question... why the heck Cuba?

If the story is bogus, why believe Siegfried even went to Cuba?
