Not even close....

In another post:

"I've published 85 books....."

I thought my Kaufman collection was fairly complete, but now I realize I don't get a smell.

Is there a list somewhere?

Thanks.....
Steve

No list that I know of, but the first was The Interlocked Production of Coins in 1977.

The most recent was ... what the heck was it? (Don't count Genii books like Hilliard, Warlock, and Vernon.)

Oh--Eugene Burger's Mastering the Art of Magic a few years ago. I think that was it.

Look for some more next year. :)

#3 was written by Adam Fleischer and Steven Minch. Minch wrote 4, 5, and 6 by himself. #6 was released as "Spectacle".

By the way, we're up to 91 books/manuscripts at this point.

Some of Richard Evans' posts are duplicates from earlier posts.
I did publish a tiny booklet of Dingle's Australian Poker as a give-away on red paper at some point, but it was later published in MAGIC. The Chad Long trick was also in MAGIC, never publishes separately.
Jim is correct, I did only the first two Symp books.

Sorry - yes, I duplicated 'Greater Magic' and 'Much Ado About Something'.

Incidentally, there's a copy of the Dingle Autralian Poker up on eBay right now. It's not on red paper - is it an original or a copy?

The Australian Poker cover is white stock--the interior pages are red. The one on eBay looks legit and I know the seller.

It would have been nice to reach 100 someday, but with Genii to run it seems unlikely.

Taking into account the corrections and additions that have been made, the number remains at 91. Come on, Richard...you're so close!

Even counting all the books I still own, that I am intent on finishing (including two Jennings books, a Tenkai book, a DeLand book) there doesn't seem to be any way to reach 100 unless I put out a whole series of little pamplets solely to reach the number.

Whether or not you get to the century, that's an impressive list of books to have produced. There's a great quote from Jim Riser on his website's \'Musings\'page :

I have a library full of older magic books that are loaded with incorrect information, incorrect methods, incorrect "history" etc. The books produced in the last few years are a complete turnaround - a wealth of information presented in a quality manner that was never seen in the past.

Post-publication item 2/20/97 THE LINEUP -- Richard Kaufman has released his list of 1997 titles. Look for

The Professional Now You See It, Now You Don't! by Bill Tarr,
Hauntics! by Christian Chelman

Richard,
if you follow the popular trend, just publish one small book in 9 volumes and you are there! 100!!

I've got it up to 94. See the Kaufman Timeline

Please post here any additions/corrections and I'll update (I need some dates).

I can get it up to 97 if we list each Looking Glass volume seperately :)

So Richard, with the four more you have planned, that'll bring th total up to 98. You sure you can't squeeze in two more to hit the magic 100?

Why not Genii books? I don't know. I suppose you could count them.

You can count individual issues of a periodical like The Looking Glass, because then you'll have to count all the individual issues of Richard's Almanac as well and that makes no sense.

Joe, I don't see anything when I click on that link!

The Stone Age by Stephen Hobbs,
The Professional Now You See It, Now You Don't! by Bill Tarr,
Hauntics! by Christian Chelman

Of the above titles, only the Tarr book was published under the title "Now You See It, Now You Don't Notebook."

Hauntics is being published in an entirely different version by Marco Pusterla.

The Stone Age has not been published.

If you are interested in images of any of the early Deland effects let me know. I have the 5 Deland decks (Star, Nifty, Daisy, League, and Automatic), The Million Dollar Mystery, The Fadeaway Card, and 2 X-Ray Decks c 1915 (one regular and one gimmicked for an Arne Rise)

Does Larry Jennings' 1992 Lecture Notes count? I'm not sure who actually published it.

And I'm also not sure about David Roth's lecture notes.

And there's a bunch of other material Richard wrote and/or illustrated, like "On the Up And Up". Can't remember if Richard did the David Roth lecture notes. And there are his own lecture notes as well.

He's also got an effect in Tannen's New Stars of Magic series.

Joe, your links still don't work. All I get on the timeline is a large empty box.
The other link to the text file crashes my browser (tried it three times). Please remove the links until you sort it out. Can't you just paste a text file into this thread?
(And remove Almanac Volume One if you added it:--it is superceded by The Collected Almanac)
I wrote lecture notes for Gene Maze (That's a Switch!), Larry Jennings (Larry Jennings' 1992 Lecture), Geoff Latta, Mike Gallo, and myself (Abstract).

Richard, would you count 'Smashed'?

I also have a reference here to Mark Phillips' 1992 Vienna lecture notes and a set of Tom Mullica's lecture notes from '96.

Joe - I have a copy of the Sawa book - the date is 1988.
