Is there still a new close up Japanese magic book coming out this year?

Another question... Does anyone know the name of the new Japanese magic book coming out?

Re: New Japan Close-Up Book
The original Japanese title was "Winners," however I have greatly expanded the content. Not sure what the new title will be.

Very nice! I've been excited about it's release for a long time and I know it will be even better than the first two. Thank you again!

Still in the works: just added a trick from Masuda and had the illustrations done by Ton.
Almost there!

Sweet!
Was reading the Genii back issue with Hiro Sakai on the cover and had a renewed interest in the Japanese style of magic. This is exciting news!

Great to hear Masuda is involved in the book. He is a brilliant creator - kinda' like a Japanese Lubor Fiedler. Really offbeat concepts and principles there. Hopefully - he will one day write a book as well...
As usual - looking forward to anything you are putting out, Richard!

Have another trick to write up from Yuji Wada and then about a dozen more drawings.
Slowly but surely.

Re: New Japan Close-Up Book
Working on it now.
My attention span is not what it was at age 25, so it's easier for me to work on several projects at the same time. In this case, that means DeLand, Jennings, and the Japanese close-up book.

Re: New Japan Close-Up Book
I have the original Japanese version of winners. There is some very clever material in here - and that's just from looking at the pictures! When I saw the book, I immediately told Satoshi-san and Ton-san that I felt this book would be extraordinarily well received by the American magic community. I hope that proves correct.

Re: New Japan Close-Up Book
My version of Winners is almost double the size of the original Japanese version, so there's lots more material.
I am also working on Cliff Green, but not writing yet. Still going over the text repeatedly and reading between the lines to make sure my interpretations are as close to what I think he was getting at as possible.

Does it look as if this book will be released before or after Christmas 2011 Mr Kaufman?

Re: New Japan Close-Up Book
Stopped working on this to finish my book on DeLand. I'd say the second half of 2012 for this.

Re: New Japan Close-Up Book
DeLand is finished. I've just put in the corrections from the four proofreaders and now need to do another full read myself. It's about 250,00 words, so it will be about 600 pages. I've already scanned everything except the gimmicked cards, but that should only take a few days.
I'll be including a full deck of 54 gimmicked cards with the book, enabling you to perform 19 of the routines.

Re: New Japan Close-Up Book
w00t! (as they say)
Do you have a ballpark idea of when you're aiming to release it? Being out of time to catch the holiday season, do you hold back a couple months until folks' wallets recover? Or do you just let fly whenever it's ready?

Re: New Japan Close-Up Book
I hope to release DeLand in June or July. The layout is going to be complicated and it's very big. Unfortunately it will also be expensive!

Re: New Japan Close-Up Book
Any Deluxe/Limited Edition planned for the Deland book?
Re: New Japan Close-Up Book
Sounds similar to Gaffed to the Hilt, how many total routines are in the book and how hard the gimmicks to make for them?

Re: New Japan Close-Up Book
I know many people are looking forward to both the Japanese book as well as the deland. Per deland - define 'expensive' please - in a very round number/range of expectation. Want to be ready !

Re: New Japan Close-Up Book
Not similar to Gaffed to the Hilt, which required all unique hand-made gimmicks. DeLand's major innovation was to create gimmicks that could be printed and didn't require hand-work. I'll be giving you the gimmicks for 19 tricks, plus the printed materials to construct several others. There are about 100 tricks in the book.
I don't know if there'll be a deluxe edition of DeLand--I have a great idea for one, but it would be an entirely different kind of book and not sure it's possible to do.
The price of the regular edition (two 300-page books) is going to be around $200.
