Proper Credit?

Postby Umpa Duze » February 15th, 2011, 2:55 am

Hi All,
There is a table design which consists of a box about four inches deep, painted on its sides with gold paint, which is then covered by gold fringe. I have always appreciated this design as it allows one to present what appears to be a thin table top when in fact there is lots of room for mechanical debauchery. I wonder if there is someone/company that is known to have originated the design or claims rights to it. I would appreciate any help I can get with this.

Thanks, Umpa
Cheers,

Great question. I suspect it goes back to Hoffmann's book which describes all sorts of goodies he saw in action by DeKolta and that generation. For example this table.

The musician's music stand arrangement (tilt the music holder horizontal, lose the flange and cover with rectangle and decor) for a table... not sure who's making claims on that basic design.
