Justin M asked me to elaborate on Jack Chanin's appreciation for Ellis Stanyon's work. I don't remember if I ever knew if he meant the book or the magazine. (I always thought the book was a compilation of the magazines, but that was just my assumption.) Anyway, when a concept or move came up that he had learned from whatever Ellis Stanyon source, he would say "My boy Ellis". I don't think he was claiming any illegitimacy, just that he was one of his favorite sources. Understand, at the time I only knew about things you could learn from the Tannen Catalog, so I assumed he was talking about Jardine Ellis, whose ring trick was in the catalog. It wasn't until years later that I realized that he was talkin about Ellis Stanyon.
