Good books/dvds on strong man magic?
Good books/dvds on strong man magic?
Can you recommend any books/dvds on how to appear to be a strongman, sort of along the lines of the Georgia Magnet?
Re: Good books/dvds on strong man magic?
Not exactly like the Georgia magnet - but here's book I stumbled on a while back which describes a few stunts. You still need to be reasonably strong to do most of them though.
I assume this book is in the public domain, so should be ok to post.

Contact Bob Friedhoffer. He's modernized a number of these stunts, and has invented several new ones.

I think the july 2004 genii might help you.

In Scarne on Magic there is an effect in which you drive a nail through a board or table with your bare hand. It's impromtu and all articles can be borrowed. Tearing phone books or a deck of cards always gets a good response.

Jim Maloney let me know that there was a mention of Georgia Magnet/Wonder material and that my name came up. I have a bit of knowledge of the acts that Lulu, Annie and Mattie Lee performed. What kind of questions do you have in mind?
I suppose you know of these books available from dealers - these listings are form Hank Lee.
#7114 New Georgia Magnet Act
#7115 Secrets Of The Magnetic Girl Explained
#7192 The Georgia Wonder - Barry H. Wiley
