Re: P&L Candle Tube
I have a P&L Candle Tube in the Wiz Kid Museum and there it will stay, because it has one basic flaw - it's too obviously a magic trick and not magical at all. I replaced it years ago with a magical vanish of a real wax candle which then seems to reappear by magic, lit, from a spectator's pocket. It could have reappeared in my own pocket but that seems rather contrived, so the mystery was deepened by pulling the fully lit wax candle from a spectator's pocket instead. Using a feke candle in a metal tube is the easy way out, but not the magical way forward.
On the other hand, the P&L Firecracker in tube still makes sense today as a pipe bomb being constructed by a maniac, which turns into a "BANG" silk dud for laughs.
