Hi ,

I remember an old Pendragons Illusion where they performed a really special switch ,

basically the dinamic of this illusion was this (if the memory will serve me):

Mr. J.Pendragon was on a stool and whit his wrists knotted on to a rope from the ceiling,

after that the stool was removed,

Charlotte P. was on the floor wearing a long cape,

a cloth was unrolled in front of Mr. J. Pendragon now hanged at midair and covering him from the wiew ,

now Charlotte turned back her body to the audience and she was shooting a fireball

or

something in to the air ,

in this moment the J. Pendragon cloth was wisked away (or something) revealing

the Jonathan vanish and

immediately discovering that the person NOW under the cape was Mr. Pendragon ,

and maybe ( I don't remember this) Charlootte reappeared from somewhere ,


Do you know if the Leg drop switch was involved on this illusion?

Do you know if the are any videos on this illusion somewhere on the web and wich

special it was?

I have deleted my initial reply because it has been suggested by more than one person that I rewrite and expand upon this story for my Genii column, Panmagium.

But, to answer Fabrice's question: the illusion is called "Le Pendu." I created it with the help of Jim Steinmeyer, and it appeared on John Fisher's Best of Magic — Season 2, I believe.

Just to know

am I correct saying that

your incredible switch was only used on your " Le Pendu" illusion from you ( and not only you)?

I don't think I have seen it used anymore ,

Yes, it was my creation and it was only filmed this way, however, I created it 8 years earlier for another threat-escape style illusion called the Sword of Damocles. I then redeveloped it for an illusion I still present today called the Election which is explained on the L and L Pendragon CDs, although I have refined it even further in the past few years . Le Pendu was my homage to one of my heros, Jean Cocteau, who wrote the libretto for Roland Petit's one act ballet Le Jeune homme et la mort. The illusion was based on this ballet. When my ex and I divorced I lost my only copy of this effect. It's from the UK Best of Magic second season and if anyone has a copy I would love to see it, again. There is much more to this story and as promised I writing it up for my Panmagium column in Genii.
