It's my favorite Racherbaumer book.

Re: card fixes
I appreciate ALL feedback. I write (to myself) long critiques of my books. This keeps one's equilibrium.
CARDFIXES was originally part of a trilogy. Many people savaged this book; however, there are some interesting effects and ideas therein. I have performed many of them over the years and afterwards magicians ask, "Is THAT in print? I really like that effect..."
When I tell them, they often add, "What? I read that book."
I'm not sure that my friend RK really read it, but he may be talking about the layout, pics, and prose...?

Re: card fixes
From 'RAMBLE', Jon's preface to "Cardfixes":
"The primary point of this ramble is to sensitize you to the sub-text of this book. It obviously adds to the glut, superadding more sludge (raw data). But it's data that begins to take form as files of FIXED tricks. In this form they're unconnected and unassimilated, inviting you to take whatever you wish; to add to your mental storehouse and CREATE SOMETHING PERSONAL. When it reaches this stage in the hierarchy of information, it becomes KNOWLEDGE."
Keep this idea in mind as you read and study "Cardfixes".

Re: card fixes
I liked the book and especially the style. I'd like to see more books that take out of date material and "fix" it for the sake of the effect. Much the same way Darwin Ortiz did the Annotated Erdnase. :)
Re: card fixes
I am interested in getting Cardfixes, but I am wondering is Cardfixes only for the intermediate to professional card magician?
Also, does Cardfixes offer it's own effects or just solutions to existing effects or handlings needing a better solution?
Thank you for any help and especially to Jon for Card Finesse 1 & 2 as well as his books on Marlo. :)

Re: card fixes
It is not a beginners book , because there are a lot of "technical terms" , that are not explained.Originally posted by kiyotey:

......
Here are some :
Overhand shuffle
"Ireland technique" (red/black shuffle)
Pinky Break
Riffle shuffle
strip-out false shuffle
up-the-ladder cut
marlo's dellayed cull
Stripper deck
Faro check
In faro
Out faro
Off center faro
"Smyth Myth" principle
crimp
"fishing" techniqwues
These terms are just from the first effect in the book .( from page 1 to 5 ) , the book has more than 200 pages.
If you are a beginner choose other books ( a beginer book :D )
If you are not a beginner get it,
Excellent book with great ideas , highly recommended.
cheers..

Daniel,
Thank you for explaining. ;)
It sounds like a really good book, but deffinantly for someone with a lot of experience in card magic.
Thanks again.
