A question on terminology

Greetings group!

I am new to this forum so I just thought I'd give an introductory "hello" to everyone.

Here goes-

"hello everyone".

okay, now-

I have a question on the 4 for 4 switch. I have heard it and "throwing the switch" used interchangeably. It is my understanding that the initial display position of the 4 cards is different in these two moves. Can someone please advise-

Thanks!

Pat

Hi Pat,

I'm not too sure about the "4 for 4 switch", but "Throwing the Switch" was the name of a manuscript by John Mendoza describing a switch of four cards for four others, plus a couple of applications. I'm sure I have seen similar switches published elsewhere with slight variations in the handling, although unfortunately I don't have any precise references.

Not a very complete answer, but I hope it is of some help.
