Hi!
My project to share my card magic creations, for free with the magic community, continues after a long pause Smile
I just finished writing the instructions for my version of "Out of This World".
An effect titled Enter the Simulation.
It's based on Wyman Jones's and Paul Harris's effect "Galaxy".
In my version, the participant deals the deck into two piles, and the magician can then start turning over red and black cards from both piles at the same time, and finish clean.
To the spectators it really looks like if you were to do it for real.
It's super easy to learn and perform. There's no sleights and it's completely self-working.
Of course there has to be a small secret move Smile
I hope many of you will like the routine! Some of you will hate it, but that's how it is always.
I welcome honest and constructive feedback & discussion!
Few comments that I have got so far:
"I LOVE it! This handling really is great. I'm not exaggerating in the slightest when I say that I will actually use this." - Sudo
"This is very well written - great effect, logical, and like you, I also like this procedure as explained here. I really find the nuances you created with this handling work better. I wish I had it yesterday as I was at our local IBM meet and I know they would have enjoyed this one!" - Mark
"Your rendition is easy to do and your points of difference are very good. I will be using yours from now on." - Barry

Re: Enter the Simulation - New OOTW version
OK. Just to clarify, my handling uses a completely normal deck.

Re: Enter the Simulation - New OOTW version
Yes, Blake's version uses a "normal" deck but U.F. Grant's version is the first which begins with a deck first shuffled by a spectator.
Thank Mark to remember me George Blake's version. It's bold but it's good.
First explains in 1954 (which doesn't make anyone any youger...)

Re: Enter the Simulation - New OOTW version
Just wanted to share few more comments I've gotten in my email:
"Wow... this is truly wonderful! I've always liked the idea of performing an OOTW, but I've never found a handling that fits my performance requirements.
I love your nonchalant yet direct presentation, your simple method, and the numerous moments of revelation.
I typically shy away from card tricks, but I will absolutely use this!"
"Thanks for the effect. Great way of changing up Galaxy."
"This is an interesting version. Like you said, a little bit of "Galaxy" and a little bit of subtlety thrown in to thoroughly amaze your spectators."
"Thanks. I really like the way you structured it. I'll be testing it out soon."

You should probably make a video of it so we can have a look at it.

Re: Enter the Simulation - New OOTW version
Enter the Simulation is an off-spin of Paul Harris’ Galaxy.
Since the author M / Trick-or-Die generously gives the effect away for free, it makes sense to write a review for it at least. For free does not mean that the effect is no good. It is an exception to the German proverb (like other effects by the author): what costs nothing is no good. Quite the opposite!
I like that the ten-page ebook is beautifully designed and described. M / Trick-or-Die uses a completely normal deck. New is the card display before the ribbon, spreading the last two piles together at the end. M / Trick-or-Die created an alternative way of showing red and black cards from both piles before spreading the cards. The sequence feels as if one were to do this for real.
It is a wonderful effect for a wonderful mood!

Tickordie,
I want to express my gratitude to you. You deserve acknowledgement and accolades for so generously sharing your work with the magical community. I learned your very creative and deceptive handling and then added my own theme, patter, and presentational touches, along with some further subtleties. I have already performed it a couple of times to wonderful reactions. What you have come up with is fantastic, great touches and subtleties, and very clearly explained. When I was learning the routine and going through it, even before performing it, each time I felt like I was amazing myself! I have seen and performed quite a few handlings of OOTW before, including the original. Prior to this, John Mendoza's handling was my favorite, but in my opinion, this is by far the best.
Thanks again, Brother.
