"I received Dr Michael Rubinstein's S.E.M in the UK. With international delivery, this was an expensive purchase and I did hesitate before ordering. Not just because of the price but because I generally avoid carrying coin magic props beyond a small purse. The joy of coin magic for me is the simplicity and lightweight materials required, and the ease of portability (ie, in one's pockets). However, I am very pleased with what I received. S.E.M is beautifully crafted. It is highly portable and easy to use in different environments.
The coins (including gimmicked coins) are top-notch quality. The [ has perfect coverage. This set is on a par with coins I have from the late, great Todd Lassen. I can see myself using these coins in other routines. This set of coins is unique and gorgeous. The quality is amazing for a gimmicked set. It leaves me wondering why other gimmick makers cannot come close to producing this quality.
Michael has produced a wonderful effect. With David Copperfield anmouncing that he will make the moon disappear in February, this will be the perfect and topical effect to perform. With S.E.M. you can make the moon disappear, reappear in impossible locations and transpose, not to mention the additional magic done with the sun and earth! And as shown in the performances, you can do this as a stand up or sit down showpiece, or do the shorter version for table hopping.
