Atomic Deck

Postby El Mystico » February 17th, 2022, 1:28 pm

According to Magicpedia, "Atomic Deck is a forcing deck in which the volunteer could shuffle yet still cut to one of them.
Created by Dai Vernon in the mid-1930s, but did not give it a name. It was first dubbed the "Brainwave Deck" by Francis Carlyle, but later retitled the "Atomic Deck" by Faucett Ross in 1953. Dai Vernon then used the name Brain Wave Deck for another routine in 1938."

From that context, I'm guessing that this was a rough-and-smooth forcing deck, what is now known as Hull's Nu-Idea Deck, marketed in 1937.

Anyone know more about this?

Thanks!
