Nikola Arkane on Sweden's Got Talent

Postby Tom Stone » February 6th, 2022, 9:41 pm

Nikola Arkane did her Cups and Balls routine in the auditions for the Sweden's Got Talent a few days ago.
The routine itself was cut to shreds, of course, but it contains a few interesting choices, and as a whole, it was a good exposure.
The piece starts at 2:40.

I notice they cut to children and their reactions in the audience. Curious if they do this with many of the axes or just hers? Are there kids in the American audiences?

It was the same for most acts in this episode. I guess chance had put more kids than usual on the seats the crew like to film.

They obviously enjoyed it. However, what has always amazed me is the obvious fluency Swedish people have with the English language.

Wow! She's a delightful person. I interacted with her a year or two back through John Carey. She's really put in the work and progressed a great deal in a relatively short period of time. Good for her!

The semi-finals was last friday. Live TV isn't kind to the nerves, but all in all, it went pretty well. Nikola didn't go to the finals. But our friend Peter Åberg got most of the votes, with a combined platespinning and memory act, so we got to celebrate anyway.
The piece start at 2:18:
