Clippo

I was wondering if anyone could tell me who the magician was that did Clippo on TV in the 1960s. There were probably several magicians, but this magician did sort of a comedic routine with it. Thank you.

. Thank you. I'll Google Roy and see if I can recognize him. All I remember is he made it quite comical and magical.

Thank you for replying. After reading some posts it may be Roy. I'll have to check some images of him and see if it rings a bell. I'll check Don too.

Thank you for replying. I know it wasn't Mark Wilson. I may have seen him do it though. I was a huge fan of Magic Land of Alakazam. I'll have to look at some images of Jay and Roy. I'm thinking it was on maybe the Ed Sullivan show, maybe

I finally figured it out I think. Carl Ballantine. I remember he did it as a pantomime maybe with some music. But it was real comical. I wished there was a video of it somewhere. I know it fooled me really good and one of the first tricks I purchased from House of 1000 Mysteries.

There’s an in-depth history of that trick in the Summer 2014 issue of Gibecière.
