Anyone know what this flip card is?

Postby Al Schneider » July 16th, 2018, 7:20 pm

While surfing I found this pitch.

Is this video a good representation of the product.

If so, I would see it valuable for the pop eyed pips.

Yes and no.
It is a different approach to Acrobatic flap cards that doesn't use rubber sheets. The joints are more invisible. And the flaps can be locked in triggered state.
I don't find the video to be deceptive.
The little I've played with them makes me a bit ambivalent. When the flap is released, it moves very fast... but slows down just before it is completely flush. If you can control the angles, it shouldn't be a problem.
All in all, I find these flap cards to be very impressive, but I will still continue using regular rubber sheet acrobatic flap cards.
I can't advise you, you have to gamble and see what you think.

These cards are a retreat from the near-perfection of dental-dam flapped gimmicks. They are closer to what was being done 100 years ago, with fat black elastic embedded in the cards.

I agree with Tom.

I am not concerned with the mechanism or the locking. If need be I can work that out. The ad suggests that the edge or flap lever point is invisible. From the forgoing I get it is finer than dental dam flaps but not invisible. I am interested in such technology but not interested in marketing hype that presents something it is not. Thanks for the comments.
