Coins thru silk

Did anyone have any luck sourcing the very sheer scarves used in the Ammar, Chris Powers or Al Schneider routines?

I know Ammar sells them but would love to walk out here in Nola somewhere and grab a couple I possible.

If anyone has had any luck I would love to hear about your experience.

Warm regards,

Have you tried Googling "sheer silk"?

I have.

Lots on EBay and Etsy.

Just was hoping someone might have procured there's from a chain store or something where I didn't have to order online.

Thanks though Richard!

It's been years ago, but I bought several at K-Mart. Just go look at the scarves in the ladies' department and try not to look creepy while you're doing it. ;)

Go to a store that sells stuff aimed at older women. You'll likely find it there.

I bought a perfectly useful one at Walmart maybe 10 or so years ago. It wasn't silk. I think it was nylon or some other synthetic fabric.

You might consider juggling scarves, which are sheer by nature.

or just Google "juggling scarves" for a wide variety of sources.

Another vote for juggling scarves. Mine is a Mr Babache, but it's over twenty years old, so I don't know if that make is still available.

That _might_ be a juggling scarf. I told Mike about them at a lecture in 98, and he was interested in them as a source then.

"Ergo decipiatur."

That's seven dollars for a set of three juggling scarves. There are other sources, and once you know what you are looking for you can hunt them down.

I bought several in a few different colors a few years ago at Walmart and they were really inexpensive($2.00 ea). They were the exact same ones that Ammar was selling at the time.

To be fair, he is selling the routine with the scarf there.

I bought the new ones Mike carries and they are superior than anything I could find elsewhere:

Just passin by.
For the cloth I use I cut up a bug net.
It is the floppiest cloth I have found.
And you can cut it to a desired size.
If you want to be really classy you could hem it.
I never bothered.

Thanks for the ideas everyone. Haven't been back in awhile.

Steve Reynolds actually had a few and was generous enough to give me one.

Oh, and I've seen Steve's Zarrow DVD footage that is shortly to be released. It's Badass.

Warm regards,
