performing magic for animals

Postby MManchester » August 10th, 2014, 11:30 pm

A Finnish magician has created a video showing him levitating sausages in front of dogs to get their reaction. I wonder to what extent dogs really understand that something that levitates is impossible and thus a magical event. Some don't act very surprised, although others do seem scared.

An interesting comparison is a Japanese video many have likely already seen of some tricks being performed for a chimpanzee. The surprise is more evident in the chimp's reactions.

Our new busking buddy is a real "people magnet," but gets more territorial attitudes from live animals. This is Fido-Fiki, the Busking Dog, from The Wizards' Journal #27. He travels with his own retinue of performing fleas and a supply of fire hydrants.
