Soft Shoelace

Recently at Tannens, I purchased something called the Soft Shoelace. When it was demoed to me I was familiar with ring and rope moves and this baffled me. Thinking that this contained astonishing new moves I purchased it. However, I did not ask if it was gimmicked and it is. At first I was dismayed, but then I started playing around with it and realized just how magical it was and that of course it is examinable. Speaking to a few people about it I was told it is a very old idea. I have been working with it for a few days and have started working on a routine for it and I was wondering if anybody knew of any in print for it.
