What's the effect?

Here are two items Vernon told me about that I do not think are in print.

At the beach, in a swimsuit, Vernon would do a coin vanish and the coin would be found 20 or more feet away, under something. Same coin.

How? He had a long, long, Thornton Windlass (a huge reel) and the coin would be dragged to wherever he hid the reel).

Another, on a cruise ship at the swimming pool. Vernon had three cards chosen from a jumbo deck. Shuffled and threw the deck high into the air and into the pool. All card landed face down, except the three selected cards were face up.

Double back deck and double faced force cards.

I worked out a similar trick on land. Three cards chosen, you say they will vanish from deck (no force, control the 3 to the top and keep a break under them)...

and reappear in my pocket, point to outside breast jacket pocket. In the pocket I had a small metal case with a hook at the top and a rubber band over the opening (like Kundalini position). There were three double backers - actually for stiffness I just glued cards face to face) I would push down on the cards, getting them out from under the hook. When I released grip the three cards flew up out of the pocket and landed on the floor - face down.

Pick them up and drop onto deck, do a six card turnover to reveal the three chosen cards.

;) :p ;)

I think it consists in asking a spectator to do as you do with four cards in his hands and four in your hands.
Cards are face down, he must take the first one, turn it face up and put it face up under the small packet. He must then do the same with the second one. He and you then turn your packets, take the bottom card, turn it face down and put it back under the packet.
You are now in fact in Elmsley count position.
Ask the spectator to put his right hand on his packet. You show him that all cards are face down by an Elmsley.
You now snap your fingers and show him that one card has turned face up in his pack and in your pack.
A kind of one twisting ace in spectator's hand.

I think the trick with the twist is routined by Bob Ostin as a Submarine card and was marketed by Ken Brooke ?Is it also in his book Fingertip Fantasies ?
