oil and water
oil and water
okay so, after reading thru dozens of different versions of OoTW, i stumbled upon an idea. an idea im sure has been thought of already.
In Out of This Universe, you can shuffle the cards, have the spectator shuffle the cards, and the cards still stay color seperated. one of the things that popped into my head, was a full deck oil and water routine.
so the question is: has a routine of this sort been published, and if so where, and by whom? :genii:

Re: oil and water
Hi,
Darwin Ortiz has a routine called "Ultimate Oil and Water" (I think) in his book "Scams and Fantasies with Cards" in which the spectator shuffles the full deck, after which a strong 6-card OandW routine is carried out, followed by the deck miraculously being separated into reds and blacks. No sooner are the cards separated, they are then seen to alternate red/black throughout.
So I guess this kind of qualifies as a full-deck OandW routine in part.
I guess there are more out there ... ...

Re: oil and water
okay, so after some research, i found all of the above oil and water effects named above to be of the small packet type. the kicker with them, is the deck becomes seperated.
so my question stands, is there an effect of oil and water with the entire deck?
thanks

Hi rage1!
In one of the Darwin Ortiz books (i think it is Card Shark) there is a routine (i think its called Las Vegas Shuffle) which is a full deck oil and water in a different dressing.
Three phases:
The deck is show separated into reds and blacks.
- 1. Phase: Overhand Shuffle - still separated
- 2. Phase: Riffle Shuffle - red and black separation
- 3. Phase several packets are mixed together and the colors are once again not mixed in the end.
Check it out and see if its something for you.
Perhaps some can give the correct info on the book and the effect.
Bye - Markus

Not quite sure what you mean there, but Kevin mentioned the Chad Long routine.Originally posted by rage1:

Hofzinser's Divider is one such routine.Originally posted by rage1:...a full deck oil and water routine....has a routine of this sort been published, and if so where, and by whom? :genii:
A full deck face up/face down version was published in Apocalypse magazine a while back.

Re: oil and water
I thought John Bannon's routine in "Smoke and Mirrors" a full deck routine and does not use a packet at all.
There is an effect by Lee Asher that is probably close enough to warrant investigation. However I never made it look smooth enough to include in my own performances. It is in one of the Penumbras. But I can't recall the name of it at this time.

Re: oil and water
thanks for all of the replys.
bannons trick does only use the deck, however its more of a quick trick type of thing. it is effective though, just not what im looking for.
again thanks for the replys

Re: oil and water
Well, can you describe better what you're looking for rather than have all these guys provide info that's not useful to you?
Re: oil and water

And you've gotten a "yes" answer. There is even one using the Gaeton Bloom Elevator item.Originally posted by rage1:
