Not too long ago, I watched this magic special on TV called "The Mysterious World of Alain Nu" in which he performed the following mentalism feat: a deck is left on the table,absolutely untouched by the performer, an espectator calls ANY card and ANY number from 1-52.... the espectator takes the cards HIMSELF, deals the cards one by one (thus revealing they are all different) and arriving at the selected card at the precise location. I noticed that Barry Richardson included an effect with the same premise in his book "ACT TWO", but he definetely relies on gaffed decks and memorization of a stack..... can anyone tell me if this Alain Nu's effect has been developed from any classic handling, published on some book or instructional video before?.... thanks....

Not sure if it's the same effect he did on the show or not, but he has an any card at any number published routine in his lecture notes "Nu 2 U" called "Romeo and Juliette" (regular deck, no gaffs).

I believe Joe is right that the effect is Alain's Romeo & Juliet but I have seen the lecture notes referenced as "Mind over Matter.
Also I believe that it is closer to Barrie's ungaffed effect called "Any Card at any Number" on page 257 of Barrie's first book on Theater of the Mind. (I haven't seen Theater of the Mind Part 2 yet.) The sleight at the end of both effects seems to be different.

You may have a difficult time getting Alain's lecture notes however there is a reference in the thread listed above that you can try.

Alain must have published "Romeo and Juliette" in multiple booklets. It is definitely in "Nu 2 U" lecture notes. I'm looking right at it. :-) I bought it when I went to one of his lectures. He performed "Romeo and Juliette" and many more great stuff. If you ever get a chance to go to one of his lectures, go!
