Is one of those a Lubor Fiedler trick?

And if so - is it one of the tricks that was demonstrated on his YouTube videos from about 6 months ago?

Yes, one is a Lubor Fiedler trick.
Last I heard from Lubor, he wasn't sure which version of his trick Tenyo was going to market, so it's hard to say whether it was one of the tricks in his video or not.

Here are descriptions of each effect, translated from text that appears on amazon.co.jp:

1. Magical Security (Lubor Fiedler)

Put a card into a green transparent file (holder) and make a magical gesture with the key, then spectator can't remove this card from transparent file. But the Magician can remove the card from the file easily, so it's really mystifying.

2. Great Escape!

Put a die on the hard metal sheet and wrap it with cloth. But even thought you wrap the die in cloth completely, this die escapes from the metal sheet and cloth. You can see the die slowly pass through cloth and metal, so it's really magical.

3. Magical Alchemy

Press a metal ball between two flat discs and the ball is suddenly smashed and becomes a round metal disc. Then you rub this round metal disc and it transforms into a 500 yen coin. The metal ball changes twice under the spectator's nose. Really interesting magic.

4. Magical Butterfly

The magician brings an empty "Insect Sample Cabinet" out and covers it with a box. Several cards with different colored butterflies are shown, and the color butterfly that that spectator selected suddenly appears in this cabinet. This piece of magical and fantastic magic comes true with modern mechanics.

5. Akira Fujii teaches Super Coin Magic (Sold only in Japan)

The famous Akira Fujii teaches coin magic that he actually performs. You can learn his coin magic easily with this DVD. Akira Fujii teaches magic in detail, so you can learn 7 tricks. The set includes a metal jumbo 500 yen coin.

Yeah - I remember that Lubor Fiedler trick from his second YouTube video.

It was one of the tricks that most impressed me, and was also the one I felt would mostly likely be the Tenyo trick.

Can't wait to see it. I have no idea how it is done!

I love Magic Butterfly. Instant buy for me.

And I know this will draw flak. But I'm really not on board with the Fiedler trick

The image of the Fiedler trick that has been posted includes two green envelopes: this would appear to be a different version of the trick than the one in Lubor's video.

True. I'd still like to know how the whole thing will play out. But going strictly off the picture, it looks like its Tenyo's version of Tag-O-Magic.
Which is also a neat trick, but I can't put a lot of enthusiasm towards either of them--even though they can play from the pocket

Tag-O-Magic by Cameron Francis seems totally different to the Lubor Fiedler trick.

I wonder if I have misunderstood your post?

Anyway - here is a description of the Cameron Francis trick.

Tag-O-Magic is a custom designed and specially die cut key tag that attaches to your normal key chain and allows for amazing and every present magic under any circumstances! Imagine this….you openly break a plastic tag off your everyday key chain. The spectator hears the snap of the plastic and clearly sees the broken tag. But with a simple wave, the broken tag is completely restored!

I cannot see the similarity.

Magic Butterfly sounds like the pop up card effect from a few years ago?

Looking forward as ever for this years range of new effects

I don't think so (re Magic Butterfly): the box looks solid.

Here's how I interpreted it.
To me, they both come across as penetration tricks. for Tag-O, you're sending the tag through the keyring. And going off of the picture and description of Security of Magic, it sounds like you'll be pulling the card through the lock.

If it's really where the spectator can't pull the card out of the sleeve without a lock involved, then yes, different story.

I think that with Magic Butterfly, the placement of the top lid will produce a different colored butterfly. But there will only be one butterfly and you could can produce all 4 colors.
I have a feeling it'll be an optical trick on some level.

Thanks for showing the video. That does put the trick into context.

I now have no idea how the trick is done either than sleighting velcro or magnets in the sleeve.

I'm actually (slowly) coming around to the trick now that I've seen the video.
But a lot of my hesitation about it comes from that I'm going to be performing for kids in hospitals and I didn't think a gaffed credit card trick would be appropriate--maybe on teenagers and their parents.

You should wait and see what version of the routine Tenyo actually puts out. Might not be the same one Lubor did (he told me this himself). And, since the trick is not out yet, we don't know if it has to use a credit card. We'll find out in about two weeks.

That's a good point.

It is still fun to analyze the tricks.

I can now say that you do have to use the credit card that comes with Lubor's "Magical Security," whose actual name for the US market will be "Security Lock." There's a quality about it that's part of the method.

The trick itself is excellent. The green envelope provided is slightly different than the prototype that Lubor uses in his "Inside Lubor's Brain" video No.2.

Thanks for the info for Security Lock!

A tiny bummer that you can't use any credit card, but I figured that would be the case anyway.

One question though. It appears that you get two envelopes and two cards. Do you get two different tricks or is the second set a spare?

The second envelope is not a spare: it's ungimmicked. However, the routine contains a second handling by Toru Suzuki that uses the ungimmicked envelope. So, after performing Lubor's effect, you can easily switch green envelopes in your pocket, then perform Suzuki's effect, and everything can be handed out.

Lubor's effect is typical Lubor, and I think will get a lot more use from people than last year's "Ghost Cards." When the green envelope is in the spectator's hands, and they are impotently trying to pull the credit card out, they almost feel that they have examined the envelope because it's been in their hands. The credit card, even though it has a special quality, can be thoroughly examined--there is nothing to find.

Now that there are videos for the 2015 line, I am wondering what everyone thinks will be their favorite one or two.

For me, it's MAGIC BUTTERFLY and THE GREAT ESCAPE although I like all four of them.

MAGIC BUTTERFLY can be used in a variety of ways which I really like and THE GREAT ESCAPE is great visually.

SECURITY LOCK is nice but somehow kind of peculiar. THE ALCHEMIST is nice but seems to be all in the moves and perhaps could be done without Tenyo's props.

So what do you think?

Regarding "Magical Alchemy," the effect is designed so that Japanese laymen, who are by far the largest group of Tenyo's customers, can perform the effect with very little practice. If you are a magician and want to use sleight of hand, yes you can do the effect without the black discs--Alan Wakeling's original version, "The Mint" (marketed by Johnson Products) had no discs but produced a similar effect using a different type of gimmick and sleight of hand.
