General Warning About Buying Tenyo From Steen Schmidt

Postby Richard Kaufman » December 24th, 2013, 2:24 pm

Steen Schmidt sells illegally made copies of Tenyo items on eBay. He puts one real Tenyo item in the lot so he can get away with using the word "Tenyo" in the listing. But you have to read his product descriptions carefully to see which items are real and which are bogus copies. He also misdescribes products.

If you by Tenyo, avoid buying from Steen Schmidt on eBay.

I bought an expensive item that had pieces replaced and was missing the box.
Also, those cards he sells on eBay that he claims come with Clyde are not the correct deck. He is a scammer.

I won't get into the specifics of my dealings with Steenschmidt, but I will say that others and myself have warned everyone to not deal with him. This is a testament all unto itself.

I'm not a big fan of Tenyo products, but something did look pretty cool. I ordered from this guy at a good price a very long time ago. Jeeeeeez......

Now, WHY would anyone even bother to knock off Tenyo? It can't be cheap to do so, but his stuff is truly junk. At least this one was. Didn't even make the visual switch that was the main point of the whole thing.

However, PayPal is pretty cool about this kind of stuff. I'm surprised that people are still getting ripped off by Steven & comany. A dispute is answered readily.

There are probably others out there. Actually, there ARE others out there selling various knock-offs. Not necessarily Tenyo....in fact RARELY Tenyo.....but lots of other stuff. Foating tables, anyone?? Don't be afraid to file a claim with PayPal. They are pretty responsive.

And we thought Lou Tannen was "Knock-Off King," right? He never came face-to-face with that nasty Internet. Maybe he was the original magic trend-setter!
