Tenyo's Magical MRI Release for 2014...

I just saw what may be the front of the packaging for Tenyo's Magical MRI release for 2014 and I can't avoid becoming very excited about this one. I suspected that this may be their best new effect for 2014 and now, I am convinced that it will indeed be a winner!

It appears to be a throwback to the Tenyo of yesteryear that us Tenyo addicts love so much. That is, apparatus made of plastic containing an ingenious method.

The magician shows a metal plate and hands it to the spectator for examination. The metal plate is now inserted in an open frame on both sides. The frame with the plate inside is placed on a support to stand upright in vertical. Although the metal plate is completely opaque, the magician can see through and can tell what is on the other side.

Here is an example of possible routine using dice. The magician shows four dice and gives two to spectator and asks him to choose any sides and lay the two dice in front of the metal plate, for example, 1 and 6. The magician, who can not see the choice of the spectator, also puts his two dice on his side and the metal plate is removed from the frame. The spectator discovers that his choice is identical to the choice of the magician and two magician's dice also show 1 and 6!
It's also possible to make a spectator select a playing card at random and place it behind the plate, with the front of the card facing him. Spectator now pick another playing card to cover the face of selected card, covering both faces. The magician will be able to see through the metal plate to guess which card was chosen, even in these impossible conditions.

This trick is a great effect, absolutely incomprehensible, that will fool even the most experienced magicians. The gimmick is diabolical and this props can be used in many different ways according to your ideas and your needs.

Ghost Card and 4D Printer also look good but there must be something more to Ghost Card. It can't be that you take a deck and push it through your cheek just like the picture suggests.

Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

I was just thinking (uh oh!). In 2010, Tenyo released Cloud Money and in 2011 they released Psychic Money, neither of which appealed to me. It looks like for 2014, Tenyo is releasing another paper money effect which doesn't interest me. I know that those releases are not aimed toward us Tenyo addicts and I can understand and appreciate that.

I never heard a good word concerning China Surprise but disagree to some extent. I performed it for my waiter and the owner of the Chinese Restaurant my wife and I frequent and was rewarded with complimentary Egg Rolls as a result of the performance. So it can't be all that bad...

So what's my point? Simply that perhaps Tenyo doesn't really release any bad magic. One must look at each effect with an open mind.

The most intriguing part of the routine is with the playings cards. Because the selected card is always facing the spectator.
