Akira Yamada has Died

Postby Richard Kaufman » June 24th, 2013, 12:11 pm

The founder of the Tenyo Company, Akira Yamada, died on June 19th at the age of 81. He was a very important figure in the field of magic, something I will discuss at length in the Tenyo book I am writing.

That's very sad. All my condolences to the family. End of an era, and I wonder if this will affect the direction that the company will take in the future. I heard that his son is not at all interested by magic. And we know that this part of the business is not the most interesting financially for Tenyo.

Akira Yamada has two daughters.

The husband of one of the daughters is the current president of the company.

The son of the other daughter, Kento Morikawa (i.e., Yamada's grandson) is now working at the company. He is young, speaks English fluently, and has a good future ahead of him.

Very sad Richard.

Given our previous discussions, your timing for seeing him could not have been better.

My condolences.

-Tom
