Tenyo Melting Loop on eBay
You don't see this but once in a great while: a Tenyo Melting Loop by Hideo Kato is on eBay. It appears a major collector is liquidating his collection. Melting Loop is extremely scarce, so have fun:

Opening bid is $399, and the cover of the box is sun-faded almost to white.

Even with a box sun-bleached to hell, someone has bid $399.

Re: Tenyo Melting Loop on eBay
I think the seller made a very good sales pitch in the description.
Re: Tenyo Melting Loop on eBay
I think we found our next contestant for "Guess That Tenyo Price"
Who will start the bidding?
Certainly more than 500!
Less than 1000? Maybe not!
I think it would be reasonable to pay $550!
Would not be surprised to see $1350 though!
Thoughts?

Re: Tenyo Melting Loop on eBay
Start the price to 400 is an error.
The trick is just a rope with a magnet. No Tenyo logo, no special addition on the props. The only thing making this item is an interesting Tenyo object for me is the box and unfortunately its main face is completly faded and used.
Fortunately there are always one or two collector ready to pay a big price for this kind of trick because they are rare. This is not the kind of trick that I love to buy and which makes me happy when I finally got it.

Davy,
I agree.
I was just telling Richard that I don't believe Melting Loop is as rare as some people think it is.
I have seen less Fantastic's over a 3 year period than Melting Loop. Therefore, I believe Fantastic is as rare as Melting Loop (I could be wrong, Richard says I am).
I know Melting Loop is rare, I'm wondering just how much.
How many have you had over the past three years versus Fantastic?

Good guess. I'm saying less than $500.

Stereo, interesting point & I tend to agree, especially since I like to display my stuff.
This would be just another rope on the wall.
On the other hand for a completest this is an important piece.
For me, auctions like this can be as much fun as the Final Four.
Let the games begin

Well, it's not really just another "rope on the wall." You are getting a gimmicked prop with instructions and a box which has five sides that look fine, and one side that's badly faded (albeit it is the most important side).
Even faded, it's highly desirable.

Sorry, should have said:
Sans box, what looks like a rope on my wall.

Closed for $613.99
Went for too much IMHO considering the condition of the box, but it's hyped and rare so not surprising.
Richard wins.
