Kudos to Chloe Olewitz!

Postby erdnasephile » November 2nd, 2020, 10:51 am

I've been catching up on my COVID-induced neglect of Genii reading lately, and I just have to say this: IMHO, Chloe Olewitz is doing a terrific job!

From the consistently interesting (and probably thankless task) of "The Eye" to the long feature articles (the Menna and Menotti articles are amongst my favorites), she has shown a rare gift in her ability to get inside her subjects' heads/hearts and more importantly, to translate that complexity into informative, thoughtful, and entertaining prose. She can get a little bit preachy at times, but that's a very small nitpick (or feature), as she refines her style and point of view. Either way, it's cool with this reader---I very much enjoy her work. Keep it coming, Ms. Olewitz!

While we are on the subject, I can't think of a time in Genii's history where the stable of writers and reviewers was so strong, and the head Genii deserves the credit for putting together a great team to read month after month.
