Eppler's bakery- raspberry rum cake recipe

Postby Guest » April 4th, 2005, 12:29 pm

I grew up in the bay area and can remember from long time back that my dad used to get us
raspberry rum cakes from epplers for our b-days.
Now,I've been trying to get the recipe, but, it seems that epplers was taken over by someone
else, and they don't make it anymore...I would really like to have this recipe...If anyone could help with that, I'd really appreciate it.

thank you, Michele

Greetings..first find a favorite recipe for your raspberry cake...I'm not familiar with Eppler's recipe and whether they used fresh raspberries as a topping or whether they incorporated the raspberries in the batter. If it's a two layer cake, either poke small holes in the bottom layer or the top layer or both and then soak the layers with Bacardi RAZZ rum. Use your favorite filling and icing or topping. The secret is in the Bacardi RAZZ rum. It is raspberry flavored rum. Hope that this leads you in the right direction...ALEX
