This trick in the October Magicana is brilliant. Fulves is a genius!

In talking with Gregg Webb about it, Gregg pointed out an easy way to obtain a fixed center position...

Do a quick Faro check, place the two halves together and hold a break. Cast out 13s per Fulves' instructions for the top and bottom halves and obtain your check numbers.

Then, out-jog either the card above or below the break and ribbon spread the deck. The out-jog serves as a helpful division point for the spectators, and enables you to formulate new check numbers after the spectators have moved their cards.
