Check the Magic Nook Calendar for Cancelled Events

Postby Spellbinder » April 5th, 2020, 11:49 am

We keep our two Calendars up-to-date every day at midnight, so if you want to know if the event you were looking forward to attending has been cancelled because of the Corona (COVID19) virus you ought to check in on it from time to time. Calendar 1 is for EVENTS like Conventions, Get-Togethers, Auctions, etc. https://www.magicnook.com/calendar/calendar.htm
Calendar 2 is only for Lectures. https://www.magicnook.com/calendar/lectures.htm

Stay safe! Stay Informed!

Or, we could just say, "Everything is cancelled. Stay inside until you hear otherwise."
And if by chance some thing is not cancelled, ignore it and stay inside!

But now things are starting to change. There are on-line lectures and events. We list those in GREEN so you'll know it's safe to GO and look on your computer. Some events will begin to come back with distance rules and safety measures worked in. We'll try to keep our calendars up with the times so you don't have to guess whether or not it's safe for you.

Here in California there is serious talk of no large gatherings though the end of 2020. I certainly hope that's not so, but it's a possibility.

I am happy to report an increase in rescheduled conventions for later this year, and of course, advance notices for 2021. You'll find the listings in GREEN on both calendars.

Scott Wells also has a very comprehensive calendar that can be accessed here: https://www.themagicwordpodcast.com/magic-convention-guide. It's my go-to for this kind of information.

Shortly after I posted above (April 23rd) both Jim and I came down (separately - no connection) with some serious internal problems that made us realize that our time is growing short. As a result, we have decided to let the Magic Nook drop off the face of the earth, along with us, and stopped staying up to midnight to change the calendar and add new events. Sorry, but life is too short. So The Magic Nook will be closing as we turn the individual articles over to the authors and let someone else run that portion under some other name. Scott Wells has a good calendar that can easily take over for ours. Arrivederci.
