Is there a list of Dealers who will be attending this year's Genii convention? Thanks.

Kevin

I have a list of two dealers.

Me and RFA Productions. (That's Tony Miller and Rosie Rings)

Should be able to post it soon.
The dealers room is open to everyone (not just magicians attending the convention).

Changes being made. I doubt I'll post it before the convention.

I have mixed feelings about not knowing who most of the dealers will be. I think that overall, the surprise of seeing who will be there outweighs the ability to plan to catch a specific dealer. In 2017, the dealers room was fantastic!

I like the surprise element of the first trip around the dealers' hall. I'm really looking forward to seeing who's there...

Agreed. The surprises are cool. Of course, if you read your Genii Magazine thoroughly, you'll know at least one magician who has some new magic that will be presented in the dealers' room. ;)

Hugely disappointing to see that Zabrecky is no longer on the schedule. He was the draw for me.

Is he ok?

Rob Zabrecky got an offer that was compelling so Raymond Crowe is stepping in.

The excitement of this year’s convention doesn’t seem to be the same as the two previous. Just a couple of days ago, there were posts about a convention in Minneapolis of the recent past, and except for this post, not a meaningful post about this year’s convention. Now a last minute, big-name cancellation!

What exactly should we be posting about?

You're not here, so you really don't know what you're talking about.

Raymond Crowe was brilliant.

Agreed! He is a very great artist, and received a well deserved and unforced standing ovation, the perfect ending for a strong show, despite some technical glitches (sound and lighting miscues).

Hector Mancha's card manipulation act was amazing. Lucy Darling was really funny and Raymond Crowe was just all 'round superb, with highlights being his shadow figure work and a really nice take on "Zombie"'with a borrowed gentleman's jacket.

I wish I was there, but I started a new job and couldn't get away. I hope that someone writes a detailed report of the action.

Now that I'm home and (almost) over my jetlag, I wanted to thank Richard and his crew for putting on a really great convention.

We will have a full writeup of the convention by Chloe Olewitz in Genii.

Excellent! Look forward to it. I have heard only good things from several who attended.

Likewise looking forward to it. My buddies who attended said it was terrific (leaving me in a continued state of regret that I wasn't able to make this one).

I thought the show was better balanced with Raymond Crowe there. He brought some light and innocence that would have been lacking if Rob had been there instead. It would have still been a great show, but it would have been darker.

Jeff, not to make you feel worse about it, but this happened. A lot, in different ways and places:

Overall - Richard and his team can be commended. There really was something for everyone ( including one or two strange choices that always adds to the mix ;-) An enormous amount of work goes on behind the scenes to pull these events off - thank you to Genii and the many merry minions!

Now what's that rumour about Genii 2020 as well ... :D

There will NOT be a Genii convention in 2020.
