Hi everyone,

The South Tyneside International Magic Festival is fast approaching and there's a packed programmed planned over the three-day convention. More details below.

PRESS RELEASE

STILL TIME TO BOOK FOR WORLD-CLASS MAGIC

SOME OF the industry’s most talented magicians will be sharing their knowledge at a popular North East festival next month – and there’s still time to get tickets.

Performers from around the UK, Europe and even the US are heading to South Shields from 10 to 13 October to take part in the South Tyneside International Magic Festival at the Customs House.

And budding magicians hoping to hone their skills and learn from the greats can make the most of the three-day convention, featuring lectures, dealers, close up sessions and more.

On Friday, Mario “the Maker Magician” Marchese will be sharing his tips for entertaining younger audiences at the children’s show and lecture, followed by lectures from Laura London and Richard Jones.

Delegates can enjoy a close up session with Richard and Mike Pisciotta, and the Late Late Show will close the first day, featuring North East comedian Finbar Healy and compere Nevin Cody.

Nate Staniforth, Steve Hewlett, and Maga Gisell will give lectures on Saturday, along with a close up workshop from Xulio Merino, Maga Gisell and Olmac.

Then, Sunday will give delegates the opportunity to quiz the magicians in a Q&A and attend lectures from Xulio, Mike and Olmac.

And convention tickets also include entry to the two gala shows on Friday and Saturday night, showcasing magic from a whole host of the convention’s performers, as well as Matricks, Adam Black and Safire.

Magician Steve Gore, who organises the festival alongside South Tyneside Council, believes this year’s line-up is one of the best yet.

“We have some excellent magicians taking part in the event this year, some of whom have never performed in the UK before,” said Steve.

“The festival covers everything, from grand illusions, to sleight of hand and children’s magic, so it is a fantastic opportunity for anyone looking to improve their own techniques or learn something new.”

The South Tyneside International Magic Festival is supported by BBC Newcastle and sponsored by The Customs House and Magicbox.

Convention tickets cost £65 and there is also a day ticket available for Friday, priced at £30, which includes entry to the children’s show, lectures from Mario, Richard and Laura and the close up session.
