Staten island

anybody from the Staten Island (NYC) area. I am new to magic again. Retired NYC firefighter. Did some magic as a preteen. mostly props . lost the thumb of my dominant hand recently and decided that some sleight of hand work is better than repetitive exercises to improve dexterity. getting to the city is a pain. looking for locals to work with..otherwise i guess i am city bound.. are the nyc groups receptive to new old guys
