Hello everyone. Bob Fitch will be doing a workshop in Los Angeles the week after his appearance in the Close-up Room in April. He's asked me to help spread the work. Here's the press announcement:

What do Jeff McBride, Bob Sheets, Paul Gertner, Bill Malone, Chef Anton, Stephen Bargatze, Gene Anderson, Steve Bedwell have in common? They were all coached by BOB FITCH! Timo Marc, Florian Zimmer and Arthur Trace, all 2007 FISM contestants/winners were coached by BOB FITCH!

For the past nine years Bob and his wife, Pauline, have run a week-long Performance Workshop for professional performers.

Who is He?

Bob Fitch is Broadway actor and director with 27 Broadway shows to his credit. He received the Burns-Mantle Award for Best Featured Actor in the Musical "Annie" and was honored with two Hirschfelds. He has coached & directed 200 magicians, including for these shows: Paul Gertner's "10 Fingers"; Thomas Solomon's "Elusions"; Brock Edwards & Arjay Lewis's full evening shows; Eugene Burger/Jeff McBride Atlantic City Show and a young David Copperfield.

His direction of Jeff McBride's "Mask, Myth, and Magic" received a NY Cabaret Award.

He created the "Coffee Cup" illusion for a David Blaine TV Special.

He wrote and coached "The Wonderful World of Alain Nu."

What is the Purpose of the Workshop?

In the past, magicians have had few resources available to learn theatre and movement skills. This intensive, structured course has been tailored to magicians, and is intended to help them effect real, hopefully lasting, change.

Exactly what it the Workshop?

The session includes daily yoga, movement, speech and acting classes. Evening performance class consist of hands-on direction of each participant to be observed by the entire group. Personal sessions are videotaped, and participants are given the tapes of themselves to keep and refer to after the workshop.

This is a participatory workshop. It will be fun, exhilarating, but also challenging. While the environment is warm and supportive, and major breakthroughs will occur, you should not expect the work to be easy or necessarily entirely comfortable.

When is the Workshop and how much is it?

Tuesday April 10 - Saturday April 15 from 9 a.m. - 10:30 p.m.
Cost will depend on the number of participants. The more participants, the less the fee. The workshop will be limited to no more than 7 participants.

Bob's workshop in Canada this past summer was, without doubt, the very best investment I have made in magic. If you have the chance -- DO NOT miss this!
