An Index of wallets, peek devices, coin holders and deck holders

Postby UKNeil » May 16th, 2023, 2:07 pm

So I have created an AZ Index of wallets, peek devices, coin holders and deck holders (220 plus so far!).

www.chamberofwallets.com

If you go to the AZ Index Page on the site you will see them all listed in alphabetical order. Each has its own page with it's description, photos, forum links and youtube videos where it's discussed or reviewed. Hopefully this will help buyers choose the right wallet etc.

Building the website has been a steep learning curve.
Upcoming features will include:
A search function.
A blog.
News of product launches.
Competitions (if I can convince some generous suppliers).

As new wallets, peek devices, coin holders and deck holders are released all the time (I'm sure I've missed some) the AZ Index will be constantly updated.

My health has been poor recently which meant the site took a bit longer to build than I expected. However I'm hoping it will be a useful site for magicians and mentalists.

Please take a look and I'd be grateful if you could give it a good share it on social media.

Peace

Neil

This is terrific. I just posted it to the Magic Castle's Facebook site, we'll see if its admins allow it.
Will you be including info on wallets such as the Barry Price Wallet that he sold in the 1980s and Owens had the rights to in the late '90s early 2000s (but isn't in business anymore)?* I used mine quite a bit in the '80s and '90s it's still in great shape. They pop up on eBay now and then.

*The way to tell them apart, original BP or Owens era, is if Jim Steinmeyer's "The Stapled Card" routine comes with it, it's an Owens era wallet.

Well the long term goal is to have virtually every wallet that was ever made. That is a tall order i know. Getting the information like adcopy and photos might be difficult though. I'm glad everyone is enjoying it.

UKNeil, this is fantastic. If I were to answer the question of an estimate of the number of magicians' wallets in existence, I would have said 50, maybe 60. Incredible. (How is it that no one's used the name "X Ray Wallet"?)

Thanks for this. I hope your health is improving as you continue updating.

Hi Folks,
Well i have had a lot of nice comments about the site but struggling to find ways of getting the word around about it. The 'Green Place' seem to be IMHO playing a little bit hardball and their moderators are not allowing me to post in their popular sections. So...any suggestions. I don't use Facebook. I have set up a twitter account for it. I was wondering what else to try. Im not aware of any magician mailing list so i'm a bit stumped.

That’s amazing work, Neil. Not sure if my (free) deck holder (and a few other holdouts/holders) qualifies. It would be much appreciated if you could take the time and have a look.

I've now added a Reviewers page to the site (which can be located on the main menu). This will take you to a list of reviewers and their Youtube channel/website and social media links.

Hi Calvin,

Please could you send me some photos and a description you would like for the deck holder and I will add it to the site. Also is it discussed in any forums anywhere?

Peace

Neil

Hi, Neil:

Is the "Forbes Portfolio" in there somewhere under a different name?

That is the wallet put out by Michael Forbes and Bob Kohler.

Nice work, Neil, and an attractive well-done website too. I see that you of course have my particular favorite, John Cornelius' Thought Transmitter Pro V3, listed in your index. I still have my original Thought Transmitter wallet that I purchased directly from John about 30 years ago. While the original is relatively primitive compared to the newest iteration, it was cutting edge in its day and I was still able to work many a miracle with it. Unbelievably, it still works on the original battery, but that's certainly because I haven't used it for performing in a couple decades. Every once in a while, though, I bring it out and am amazed to see that it's still kicking. John was a genius, and an exceedingly creative and skillful magician. His passing in 2019 was a great loss to magic.

I wish you a speedy and full recovery from whatever malady(s) you are dealing with right now. Prayers and good wishes!

Alfred

Thankyou for the kind words Alfred. Prayers are much needed. Its frustrating with the health issues as i could be doing a lot more on the site and quicker.

God Bless.

Rovi had a straightforward version of card to wallet using the traditional (but ungimmicked) large wallet
