That Changing Room Illusion totally got me! I didn't notice a thing, though the change (when shown at the end) was dramatic.

Seems like the above principle it should be able to be put to even more interesting magical use...

Some of these illusions, like the one pictured above, are "one-shot learning" types. If you didn't see the circles the first time, in subsequent viewings they will be seen.

Others retain their illusory power indefinitely...

After reading the article on the coffer illusion I was able to see the circles. I cannot see any illusory effect in the example immediately above. What’s supposed to be seen?

I've been enjoying the book Champions of Illusion and have to say that these next sets of illusions takes the cake. The third link was not included in the book, but was part of a follow-up illusion posted on the Michael Bach website. If you wear glasses, take them off for the last one and experience the blur effect without the aide of autorun.

Ken Knowlton G4G Interview

Wonderful work. I was at the local thrift store earlier today and found two sealed unopened Ji Ga Zo magic puzzle boxes from Hasbro circa 2010. These jigsaw puzzle sets were co-created by Kenneth C. Knowlton, Mark Setteducati, and Tenyo Co. Ltd.. Looking forward to opening one of these boxes. I like the fact that the same 300 puzzle pieces are reused to generate the infinity of family facial images. I would like to think that the "themes" and "principles" used in these art mosacis are of the "hybrid image" sub-category. As for "styling" I like the analog restriction of only using 300 jigsaw puzzle pieces and the algorithm that makes this possible (see G4G Setteducati talk). https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=_VT40UElGok

More On "Hybrid Images"
https://www.giannisarcone.com/wp/blog/2018/03/19/frankensteins-dream-hybrid-picture/

Optical illusion designer Gianni A. Sarcone along with Marie-Jo Waeber put out a series of 4-5 books with QEB Publishing that make for a wonderful set. Along with the curated illusions there are D.I.Y. projects and activities at the back of the books that make for further interesting explorations of concepts discussed in the book chapter's categorical buckets.

(1) Optical Illusions
(2) Brain Busters
(3) Motion Madness
(4) Shape Shifters
