2022 Conventions

Postby Bill Mullins » November 21st, 2021, 5:04 pm

After a couple of years of depressed magic conventions, 2022 is looking to have several good ones.

Gator Gate Gathering -- Jan 7-9

Society of American Magicians -- Jan 15-18
(honoring Max Maven -- glad to see he's up for it)

Magifest -- Jan 20-22

Magic Live -- May 15-18

IBM 100th anniversary convention -- July 13-16

FISM Quebec -- July 25-30

Just the month of January would be a year's worth of great conventions for me.

I couldn’t find the presenters on the website - I don’t think Bill will mind me posting it here:

“ Here are a few of the amazing presentations we have lined up:

1) Q&A with the star of Esther’s Follies, Ray Anderson.
2)Trixie Bond is doing a presentation on the History of Texas Magicians.
3) Chip Romero speaking about Doug Henning’s early years and his grant from the Canadian government that got him to the Magic Castle.
4)Nick Lewin is doing a presentation on his friend and mentor, Ken Brooke – the famous London magic dealer.
5)Diego Domingo “The Magic Detective” has done extensive research and will be talking about 2 of the most famous magician’s assistants from the Golden Age of Magic (Thurston’s long-time assistant: George White, and William Robinson’s assistant: Dot)
6)Roger Dreyer will be talking about his personal relationship with Al and Jackie Flosso

And let’s not forget about the special performance at Esther’s Follies (plus a delicious barbecue dinner), and the presentation of the large Houdini Collection at the Ransom Center. (By the way, this month marks the 95th anniversary of the death of Harry Houdini.)”
