Was Bob Elliott a chemistry teacher? Or am I confusing him with someone else?

Re: Campaign for a documentary about Bob Elliott
He was a salesman for Johns Manville, a company that made asbestos brake linings. He made a lot of money and was quite a playboy. When the company went out of business, felled by lawsuits, he became a teacher. Not sure of the subject. He was extremely good and learned Dingle's entire repertoire and did it almost as well.

According to Magicpedia about Bob Elliott:
With his wife, Happy, they helped run the Tannen Magic Camp. They also helped book lecture tours and welcomed many rising stars of magic into their house.
Elliott worked as a Mining Engineer and was a teacher at the Harry Lorayne Memory School as well as at the New York School for Magicians.
After retiring, he moved to the West Coast and eventually relocated to Oceanside, California.
He inspired many magicians including Richard Kaufman, whom he taught his first actual card routine.
According to Wikipedia both he and Darwin Ortiz were instructors at the Harry Lorayne Memory School

I'm not sure that I knew about the Elliott/Lorayne connection, but Harry Lorayne has mentioned Ortiz and the Memory School from time to time. I think the first book I read where Ortiz is mentioned in this regard is "Afterthoughts".
But not having attended the Memory School, I can't remember.
