The Magic Hands

Discussions of new films, books, television shows, and media indirectly related to magic and magicians. For example, there may be a book on mnemonics or theatrical technique we should know or at least know about.

Back in 1965 Lin Searles together with producers Don Stern and Jim Cooper created Tricks & Treats with The Magic Hands.

About 130 short films, 3 minutes each, were filmed for TV. Leo Behnke's hands performed the magic with narration by Gorge Mather.

I would like to get further information about this subject. Could anyone please advise me where or to whom shall I turn to?

While living in Chicago during the late 60s-early 70's I recall seeing these while watching either "Bozo's Circus" or the Ray Rayner show, a local morning kids show.

The format as I remember was a pair of gloved hands against a black background would perform a trick then explain it all in the space of one minute or less.

Thanks for bringing back a great childhood memory!

Best regards,

Pete Mills
