TV Archive

Discussions of new films, books, television shows, and media indirectly related to magic and magicians. For example, there may be a book on mnemonics or theatrical technique we should know or at least know about.

Hi everybody,
There used to be a post somewhere around here with a link to a site with a television clip archive where there were many magic related clips. I think that it was a British site and it may have only contained ads. Anybody remember this or am I crazy?

Thanks,
Grant

Hi Grant - No you're not crazy, the site you're probably thinking of is British Pathe\'s which conains many old newsreels from the 30's through to the 70's. Do a search on their homepage for "magic" & "magicians" and you'll be rewarded with a few vintage gems. Be warned though that downloading the free preview clips involves going through a bit of a tedious routine each time.

Thanks Steve,
If the rest of the reels are as good as the couple I saw last time, the hassle is well worth it.
