In page 67 of the october issue, at the end of Miller's letter to Faucett Ross, reads as follows: "Yes, Dai wanted all the data on Max. Now tell that guy not to eat jewish food just so he can do his tricks"

I presume he means Kosher.

"Jewish food" is not kosher food.
Jewish food is of a cultural culinary heritage that goes back to Russia and Poland (as it is generally thought of).
Not all Jewish food is kosher, and not all kosher food is "Jewish," whatever that means.

I believe Charlie Miller is referring to the presumption of what it may take to penetrate Malini's "Inner Circle", that is the group of magicians of Jewish faith who traded secrets, and generally socialized with one another because of that faith.

He is referring to the lengths that some people, like Vernon, would go to gain access to secrets, Vernon not being Jewish. It was written, I believe, with tongue in cheek.

Jews eat tongue, you know. :)
So do the Japanese.

The trouble with tongue is that you can never be sure if you're tasting it or if it's tasting you....

Only the tongue that is attached to a living being is doing the tasting.

Jewish food is generally;

one from column A, two from column B, followed by mint ice cream and a fortune cookie.

However, if my mother ever got me to eat Borscht, that would have been a great trick.
