Though I just received the issue yesterday and have not had the opportunity to read the article, I do have a comment. This is the best cover of a Genii I've seen. Clean, simple, elegant, respectful. Great job.

Richard, you mention that the drawing is from "an anonymous admirer". Isn't this an Al Hirschfild? Or is it just an imitation of his style (complete with NINA in the drawing)?

Richard is on the road headed for Reno, so I thought I'd but in... it is a pseudo Hirshfeld, artist's name withheld to protect the guilty :D

My had is off the Max Maven for a BRILLIANT historic look at T. G. Jasper, AKA Jay Marshall. :genii:

Now online here at the IBM convention in Reno.
Yes, the drawing is a faux Hirschfeld.
The artist wishes to remain anonymous.

Yes, the artwork is very fine. But the article by Max Maven -- that, by god, is absolutely exceptional. Thank you so much for republishing it, Richard, along with Mr. Maven's newer commentary. It's one of the loveliest articles I've ever read, in any magazine, magical or otherwise.

Best,
