Somewhere in my library I have instructions on how to play roulette with a deck of cards. It’s not a magic trick. I’ve looked over the years and haven’t had any luck finding it.
Here’s what I recall;
Certain cards are removed from the deck and the remaining playing cards are laid out in a grid, probably 6x6. I think one or more of the jokers represent the zero and double zero.
Chip or coin bets are placed on the cards in the grid.
Somehow the remaining cards are used to generate the winning number.
Does this ring any bells?
Thanks!
Too much time on your freshly washed hands? For those interested, the 1939 movie short Seeing Red (Red Skelton) is on YouTube.
This has the best version of A. Robins, Banana Man. Everyone should see him at least once. (I also think everyone should learn to make Harpo’s Gookie Face.) Also featured are Harris & Shore, a comedy dance duo.

Re: Roulette with playing cards
That's in Hex Squared by Karl Fulves (2001)
Good luck finding a copy; I know at least one other person who is looking.

Re: Roulette with playing cards
Thanks. I've already checked that out on the Conjuring Archive, it's not the source I recall as I've never owned it. It looks like the Hex Squared book is all magic trick applications.
The item I'm looking for is only for playing roulette, there is no trick involved. It's just for playing roulette without an actual wheel.

Re: Roulette with playing cards
There is something like this in the book Reinventing The Real by Tyler Wilson.
Re: Roulette with playing cards
A different take on this idea is the recent Roulette Playing Cards from Mechanic Industries. They have animated card backs with a roulette wheel.
