Hi Folks,
In Roy Walton's Cascade - he mentions "the plot sequence in which a card..." basic effect as coming from Gordon Bruce.
I'd like to follow up on that trail - where is the Gordon Bruce item in print?
Thanks in advance,
JonT

May be The Duplicount described in Pabular, Vol. 5, no 5, May 1979, page 682.

This comes in context of the "Cascade" effect- turning one card face up and then having the rest of the packet magically flip over underneath that card. The Duplicount looks to be a way of showing a packet as duplicate cards.
Roy Walton credits the plot idea to Gordon Bruce at the start of his Cascade manuscript. I'm curious as to what Gordon Bruce had in mind for that effect/plot.

Re: Gordon Bruce item mentioned in Roy Walton's Cascade
I just had a phone call with Gordon about this; the basis is that he had the idea to reverse one card and all the others would follow when he was playing around with the Ghost count. He showed this idea to Roy and then went to London for the weekend. When he returned, Roy had created two routines - Card Warp and Cascade.
Gordon published a few variations in a booklet called Something for Nothing. He tells me there were six copies printed, so that might be a tough find.
That's all.

Thanks Ian,
Doing some homework/review here on basics. Very long ago, with four of a kind in hand - while practicing double turnovers and the Ghost Count... discovered that double turnovers between Ghost Counts alternated face up and face down displays. That and a little work on playing up a paintbrush-like color change... got something magical working. A faced card on the pack set up a suitable routine finale.
If credit for earlier discovery goes to Gordon - happy to move on from there.

Gordon should go to London for the weekend more often.
