Credit for the Thumb Base Slide

A place where beginners can participate, ask questions, and post their views. However, beginners typically ask a lot of questions about sources, tricks, books, and so on. In fact, all magicians are interested (or should be) in the provenance of tricks, ideas, and related matters. This department will service these needs.

Yes, definitely Ross Bertram.

Sometimes people incorrectly credit Dr. Daley, who published it in a trick which I believe was called "Motile" in The Phoenix.

I'd like the proper citation on this item as well.

Is this from the apparently impromptu seated item where you put a coin on each knee and that sleight gets one into the fold of your pants?

No--this is sliding a coin beneath the base of your thumb with your palm-down hand across the table.
