Software for book collectors

A few weeks ago I discovered this great software : Book Collector from Collectorz

I've been using it since and it's real cool. if you know the ISBN number it will look up for all the details available. IF no ISBN it links to different Libraries in the world....any sometimes it gets info too...
Very easy to manage, even makes interesting configurable statistics. really recommended !

From the Site:

Anyway, I would like to hear if some of you use software to manage your libraries ? if yes, which? any comments? advise?

I've been using Readerware for awhile now. As a database programs go, it's pretty primitive, but it gets the job done, I suppose.

Would either Collectorz or Readerware work for periodical collections? Or any suggestions for other software?

I've been using "Books" for a few years now. It's free, has the ISBN look-up described earlier (although most magic books don't have an ISBN), and easily exports to iPod and Web formats.

I've been using for years BookCat: http://www.fnprg.com and I'm really pleased with it: it's good, powerful, has the ISBN search function and export to HTML/XML. It's also very customizable, allowing you to modify the database to store specific fields (I've added the fields to indicate if the book is signed and the copy number/print run).

I use delicious library http://www.delicious-monster.com/ which works well on the mac, does ISBN scanning and barcodes etc.. outputs to HTML etc as well...

Both those programs offer trial versions for download, so you should give them both a whirl. I keep periodicals in the same database as books, and Readerware does what I need it to.
I keep Antinomy as a single "periodical" entry, with individual issues listed in the free-form comments section. OTOH, I file Gibecire issues as individual books of type periodical. Neither scheme is perfect, either is adequate.
As someone noted above, since so few magic pubs have ISBNs or ISSNs, those features are not so useful.

http://www.librarything.com is a free online service (A free account allows you to catalog up to 200 books).
