Best Card DVD's out there

A apologize for posting this twice but I wasnt sure where to put it. It is also in General. Mod's fee free to remove one if necessary.

First off I just wanted to say hello. I am very new to the art of magic, although I did know a few card tricks previously.

I would like to get into it more now that I have some decent free time.

My big question is I see various DVD's for card tricks or training on slights etc. I almost purchased this yesterday but thought I should ask around to see which on is the best.

This is the one I was interested in. Complete Card Magic with Gerry Griffin - The Definitive Set (Volumes 1-7) (7 DVDs). Does anyone have any opinions, or know if there is a better set of DVD's out there.

My suggestion: buy DVDs for learning sleights, and stick to books for the tricks themselves.

Me, I like Daryl's set, plus Allan Ackerman for the advanced stuff. However, I am still a book person. I just know that there's quite a few moves that I've read about (Bill Goodman's "Two-Ton Transpo," for instance) that I never believed you could get away with until I saw it done in person (I saw the Goodman move done by Jim Swain). But you get a lot more of the psychology and details on technique in print than you would learning the trick on DVD.

Enc of card slights by Daryl 1-3 to get you started.
Ambitios card by Daryl
The Lennart Green set( Although advanced it will give you something to aim for!!!)
On the loose by Bill Malone
with these DVDS you can start to get some fantastic ideas!!! :cool:

Before you drop a small fortune on a 7-DVD set, you might get a good quality single disc to see if you really have the patience to learn teh sleights and really use them.

I would suggest Richard Kaufman's Basic Basic Card Technique DVD, which contains nearly everything you will need to do the bulk of card magic from the last 100 years. At roughly $30, it is a steal next to some arcane 7-DVD set that will take years to wade through. Learn basics first and apply them to quality effects and presentations; then go hog-wild with the Card College 6-book set and some encyclopedic multi-DVD set when you know you love it.
